Newcom International has developed a safety system for flammable substances, for
oil and gas installations in particular. In an emergency situation or if there is
a threat of one, the flow of oil or gas to the installation has to be capped off.
But this is not possible in the usual way if oil pressure drops, electricity fails
or pipes are damaged. Vorscon’s new safety system caps off the flow of oil or gas
whatever the circumstances.
How the safety system works
The safety system injects water and nitrogen into the pipes at strategically selected
points in the oil and gas installation. This freezes the installation over part of
its length, so that an ice pack is formed. The freezing prevents or stops leaks and
stops the flow of hazardous substances.
